As we've already indicated, Quercetin is a type of bioflavonoid and antioxidant that is commonly found in plant foods such as leafy greens, broccoli, etc. Like all antioxidants, Quercetin plays an important part in battling free radicals which have been implicated in the aging process as well as other diseases. The Proven and Suspected Benefits of Quercetin
  • Protects the brain: In studies conducted on mice, Quercetin has been found to increase superoxide dismutase (SOD) in the brain. This antioxidant enzyme is thought to improve cognition, learning and even memory.
  • May contain anti-aging properties: Although more research is needed to prove this, Quercetin is believed to help slow down the aging process. This is due to its ability to eliminate harmful, aging senescent cells. This claim has already been proven in studies conducted on earthworms which saw a 15% increase in their lifespan.
  • Improves heart health: In successful human studies, Quercetin helped to maintain high blood pressure levels in 41 patients after just 28 days of use. The dosage that was used was 500mg/day.
