Look Younger and More Youthful with Beta Glucan Cream

By now, nearly everyone knows about the health sustaining benefits of oats—and the Beta Glucan within the oats. Many people have added oatmeal to their breakfast hoping to reap the benefits of lower cholesterol, reduced blood pressure, stabilized blood sugar levels and more. However, it happens that oats – or at a least substance in them – are just as nourishing to the outside of the body as they are to the insides. That is because oats – as well as barley, lichens and some algae – contain Beta Glucans; these are sugars found within the cell walls of certain plants and they are being discovered to have a wealth of benefits for the entire body. Particularly, Beta Glucans aid the skin by creating a barrier that allows the skin to hold its moisture while the fibrous husk of the oats gently exfoliates the skin. Because of this, Beta Glucans have now become a major ingredient in many face creams and lotions.
Beta Glucans aid in keeping skin youthful looking by activating the production of Langerhan cells. These cells play a vital role in keeping the skin young and healthy looking. As we age, these Langerhan cells naturally decrease, but Beta Glucans strengthen and re-invigorate the production of these cells. The end result is younger, healthier looking skin. In fact, some scientists have been looking very seriously into Beta Glucans. In 2005 the results of a trial published in the “International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists” showed that several human subjects had improved smoothness and fewer wrinkles than those in a placebo group when using Beta Glucans. The benefits of using natural health products containing Beta Glucan include:
- stimulation of collagen synthesis
- wound healing
- anti-irritant
- skin soothing
- moisturizer
- film former (locking in natural moisture)
- anti-aging
- immunostimulant
